WHAT TO NOTICE
Chevy is immediately recognizable by her compact body, brindling streaks in her fur, big ears and a missing tail.
She is unusually fond of the ball.
She has a distinctive “side eye” .
Often seen as a black blur.
HOW SHE LIVES:
Chevys are highly alert, curious and can often be found chasing a ball or a bee. She spends significant time sleeping near Brenda’s feet waiting for the next adventure.
She plays an important role in the biome of the Colwellidae family serving as entertainment and recipient of extensive loving scratches.
THE INTERESTING PART
While there is only one Chevy, she originates from the Navajo Nation in Northern Arizona and many of her relatives are cattle dogs and are known for their herding instinct. Chevy is smaller than most of her extended family and believed to have been accidentally separated from the herding family. The best part: she is perfectly sized for being the best hiking buddy.
WHERE WE FOUND HER:
Chevy was discovered at just 8 weeks old at the Chevron station in Kayenta, AZ on a cold December night. She chose her family by running under our car. Legend has it that she can read and picked her next home in the mountains by recognizing our county by the license plate.
